Causal Nexus
In development

Causal Nexus is a semi-improvised performance work exploring the entanglement of bodies and technology. The project seeks to explore the mythology that might be built around these Human / Machine 'Techno' systems when we lose connection to the 'Nature' systems which predated them. The work places dancers, musicians and computers within a cybernetic feedback loop, where actions continuously affect and reshape the system, which in turn reshapes the relationships between performers in unexpected ways. Drawing on post humanism, ritual and emerging technologies, Causal Nexus imagines a world in which the boundaries between human and machine become uncertain, exploring what happens when we give ourselves over to "techno gods".

This project had an initial Development period in 2024 through Australian Dance Theatres ADT:Raw Programme and then in 2025 through Adelaide Festivals 'Inspace Development Programme'. Throughout 2026 the project will be further developed with the support of Vital Statistix and will presented within NIDA's Future Forms Salon.
